Chilled Water Generators (Ice Banks)

Order

The Ice Bank system is a simple technology based on storing cooling capacity at night and using it the following day to cool. At night when electricity is generated at less cost, chillers cool fluid and store it normally as chilled water or ice. During daytime, when electricity is more expensive, the stored cooling is used to meet the building cooling load requirements.

    Description

    Chilled Water Generators (Ice Banks)

These Ice Banks are preassembled units consisting of:
    – Tank with thermostatic expansion valve for the feeding of evaporators.
    – Air Condensing Unit including control panel and connections.

    Construction:
    Inner Tank: galvanised iron-sheet.
Insulation: high density polystyrene with vapour barrier.
    Outer Shell: painted galvanised iron-sheet.
    Bottom: galvanised iron-sheet.
Upper Frame and Hooks: stainless steel.
    Agitation: Air blower.
    Evaporators: galvanised carbon-steel mode banks.
Feeding: evaporators equipped with distributors for liquid injection regulation.
Ice Control: for the condensing unit drive.

    Advantages:
    – In comparison with the systems planned to work without any stored refrigeration, less is the time of use more is the advantage. The relevant advantages are the following:
    – Minimum capital cost because of the reduction of plant capacity
    – Minimum running cost because of the possibility to avoid the top consumption’s and relevant penalties.
    – Maximum safety since icing does not cause any breakage and damage like in the shell and tube chillers.
    – Maximum dependability because of the possibility of using the ice until the service arrival.

    Technical Characteristics:
    Power Supply: 400V 3 phases – 50 Hz
